STABILITY & FUNCTIONALITY
With the use of dental implants, we can resolve all problems caused by artificial dentures, offering the patient stability, functionality and a healthy smile. To stabilize a denture on the upper jaw we need four (4) dental implants, while for a denture in the lower jaw we only need two (2).
This special “overlay denture”, as it is called, gives the patient the sense of having a secure prosthetic device in their mouth. At the same time, it is a significantly more inexpensive solution than that of multiple implants for a fixed bridge.
The advantages of using implants for dentures are multiple. They offer stability when chewing and speaking which gives the patient greater confidence in their daily life. At the same time, the improvement of stabilization allows for the reduction of the denture’s size which makes it more tolerable in the patient’s mouth.
It is important to know that by using dental implants to support the denture, we avoid burdening the gums while also maintaining significantly more of the natural bone thickness, which would otherwise worsen over time.
