ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Our team at Smile Ahead Clinic consists of physicians with excellent training and extended experience in the whole spectrum of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

This surgical specialty focuses and treats all dental, oral and facial diseases, injuries or defects and addresses them as a single set of conditions.

At Smile Ahead Clinic, small oral surgeries – such as extraction of wisdom teeth, removal of cysts and small tumors, membrane placement and bone grafting, sinus lifting etc. – take place in a specially designed treatment room at our Clinic.

Cases of patients with orthognathic problems – such as prognathism (underbite), retrognathism (overbite), facial asymmetry, etc. – are treated in collaboration with an Orthodontist and completed at the Private Hospital HYGEIA. Also at HYGEIA, doctor Sourmelis and his associates treat more serious cases of the Clinic which involve facial fractures, large cysts in the jaw, facial injuries and neoplasms.

It is of utmost importance to record a detailed medical history for every patient with an issue that needs to be addressed by a Maxillofacial Surgeon. Accurate diagnosis is based on both clinical examination and specialized radiographic examination, which includes a digital panoramic X-Ray and tomography (CT). In most cases, the latter is accompanied by a three-dimensional analysis using the Clinic’s specialized 3D software SIMPLANT.
