BONE GRAFT & MEMBRANES

WHAT IS BONE GRAFT AND MEMBRANES?

Bone grafts and membranes are used to repair bone defects in the jaws. Bone grafts can be bone fragments from the patients themselves (autograft) or artificial grafts (heterografts) with a structure similar to that of the human bone.

The quality of the graft and membranes is of critical importance to the patient’s health, same as with dental implants. This is why the materials must be of respected brands and certified.

The bone graft and membranes we use at Smile Ahead Clinic are strictly selected from the most reliable companies in the world. The use of these materials for over 20 years in our Clinic guarantees the best results and our patients’ safety.

ΜENSURING ZERO RISK OF GRAFT/MEMBRANE REJECTION BY IMMUNE SYSTEM

Obtaining the patient’s accurate medical history and using approved high-quality materials minimizes the possibility of a bone graft or membrane being rejected by the patient’s body. According to international standards, the possibility of the patient’s body rejecting autograft (bone graft sourced from their own bone) or artificial grafts and membranes is minimal.

In all cases, the patient’s medical history should note all possible allergic reactions to substances or food so that we can suggest the corresponding preoperative examination of specific antigens.
